Tell us a bit about the campaign

The designed and raise ‘Ovaries. to money shine Talk to a about find light an on them’ early ovarian campaign detection cancer is test. Because the symptoms are so difficult to feel and women are diagnosed too late, the survival rates are extremely low. All of that combines to create a situation where this disease is just not talked about; it’s the silent cancer.

Why is ovarian cancer so close to your heart?

I lost my mother to ovarian cancer 26 years ago due to a late diagnosis when I was 11 years old. Growing up without my mum was a pain like no other, and I want to do my best to prevent others from experiencing that same loss.

Who have you partnered with for the campaign?

We have partnered with associate professor Caroline Ford and her team at Ovarian Cancer Research, UNSW, who have developed a test that may change how ovarian cancer is diagnosed.

Talk us through the Camilla and Marc T-shirt designs.

We wanted to design a T-shirt that women and men could wear every day, long after the campaign period, so we could spark a continued and very natural and open conversation about ovarian cancer. We also wanted the women who are currently undergoing treatment to have something to wear that they could be truly proud of. The impact of this disease is often so devastating that we wanted to create a design that offered hope and inspiration and that deeply honoured a woman’s body.

What can the public do to help?

By joining the conversation and wearing the limited edition T-shirt from March 2. You can purchase it online at camillaandmarc.com or in select Camilla and Marc stores. We would also love support from all those who buy the T-shirt to spread the word by posting themselves wearing it across social media using the tags #ovariestalkaboutthem #powerandsolidarity @camillaandmarc.
