JEN AND JOHN ARE BACK ON!

THE FORMER COUPLE HAVE SPARKED SPECULATION OF A REUNION WITH ONE TELLING CLUE

They raised eyebrows when they were spotted leaving the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles “just moments apart” last year. And now exes Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have once again sparked whispers of a reunion after one telling social media clue. On March 22, eagle-eyed fans claimed they’d spotted the 52-year-old’s dog, Lord Chesterfield, in Mayer’s TikTok video. The singer, 43, shared the video to tease his new album, captioning it, “Choo choo here comes new music.” But it didn’t take long for many to suspect his video also teased the possibility that he had rekindled his romance with ex-girlfriend Aniston. “Is that Jennifer Aniston’s dog in JM’s new TikTok announcing his new music,” gossip site DeuxMoi posted on their Instagram Stories alongside snaps of both dogs. “A doggy playdate perhaps?”

The actress had only recently shared an updated snap of her adorable pup, whom she adopted last October as a companion for her other pooches – with Lord Chesterfield’s collar looking very similar to the one around the dog’s neck in the video.

The former flames started dating in 2008 after meeting at an Oscars party. However they split the following year, with Mayer later hinting that their eight-year age gap may have played a factor in their break-up. “I’ll always be sorry that it didn’t last,” he told Playboy magazine at the time. “In some ways I wish I could be with her. But I can’t change the fact that I need to be 32.”

Aniston later insisted that there were no hard feelings between the pair, despite their “painful” split. “We care about each other,” she told Vogue after Mayer’s candid

confession. “It’s funny when you hit a place in a relationship and you both realise, we maybe need to do something else, but you still really, really love each other … There was no malicious intent. I deeply, deeply care about him; we talk, we adore one another. And that’s where it is.”

While she’s been through some of the most-publicised splits in Hollywood history, Aniston has a habit of remaining on friendly terms with a slew of her exes. The actress mourned the loss of her dog Dolly with ex-husband, Justin Theroux, by her side in 2019. And later that year, the former couple also celebrated Thanksgiving together with a group of friends. She’s also said to have rekindled a friendship with ex-husband Brad Pitt (see breakout), after his 2016 split with Angelina Jolie.

Meanwhile, Mayer hasn’t had quite the same experience with his former flames – having been the subject of brutal break-up songs by exes Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. However, his dinner date with Aniston in February last year proved they were on friendlier terms.

The singer also recently revealed his desire to be a family man after years of bachelorhood. “There’s one thing left and that’s wife and kids,” Mayer told pal Andy Cohen on his radio show in February. “That would complete all of it.”

“I’ve come to a point in my life where, with this stuff, I’m not fatigued completely, but my hands are on my knees a little bit and I’m going, ‘OK, I definitely explored the life of what can be done for me by me,’” he continued. “So I don’t feel late because I would never want to have a wife and kids while I was still investigating what’s out there for me to be explored by me.”

But whether his inclination to finally settle down is what’s landed him back in the company of ex Aniston remains to be seen. •
