MARGOT’S BODY SECRETS

THE AWARD-WINNING STAR SPILLS THE TIPS AND TRICKS SHE USES TO GET HER KILLER FIGURE

hether she’s filming scenes for an upcoming flick or making her way down the red carpet, Margot Robbie is always cameraready. However, in what will be music to envious fans ears, the actress doesn’t go to extreme measures to keep her body in fine form. Robbie, 30, recently revealed her sensible approach to eating and exercise – even divulging her penchant for a sneaky burger and beer!

Chatting to UK’s Women’s Health, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star explained she keeps it simple when it comes to her diet. Robbie sticks to lean proteins with healthy carbohydrates to keep her feeling full. “Breakfast is usually porridge, and during the morning I’ll have an immunity-boosting smoothie,” the blonde beauty shared of how she kicks off her day. “I’ll normally have a chicken salad for lunch, and for dinner I’ll tuck into a tuna steak with sweet potato.”

After previously admitting she’s “not good at doing moderation”, it’s no surprise that Robbie doesn’t mind indulging in something more substantial when the occasion calls for it. “Food is a big thing for me,” she continued. Mexican with margaritas is a typical meal out for the star – although while she’s been living in the US, Robbie admits to favouring a burger and fries which she’ll “order with a pint of beer”.

The Aussie actress has also adapted her workout regimen while living in Los Angeles, admitting she’s jumped on the Pilates bandwagon. “[I] really got into Pilates when I moved to LA and always feel a lot better after a good stretch,” Robbie shared. The stretch sessions have proved a nice reprieve from the intense workout schedules Robbie had to endure while training for films Suicide Squad (2016), I, Tonya (2017) and Birds of Prey, which was released last year (see breakout).

However the star has admitted she did enjoy some aspects of the training. “I found boxing sessions and fighting practise for Suicide Squad really fun,” Robbie shared, before adding, “but quickly realised I wasn’t so much a fan of lifting weights.”

When she isn’t working on a film, the actress says she still tries to workout but aims to make exercise a bit more fun. “When I’m not preparing for a role, I prefer to do workouts I really like, such as dance classes or playing tennis with friends,” she shared.

While exercise and eating right are key elements in keeping Robbie taut and trim, the actress also knows the importance of self-care. “I’ll put on a face mask, light some nice soothing scented candles and play relaxing music,” she added of her luxurious night-time routine. “And if I’ve had a particularly tough day, I’ll run a bath with lots of bubbles and enjoy a cold beer while I soak. Bliss.” Bliss, indeed!
