Oscar highlights NEW TRENDS TO TRY!
The red carpet was flooded with seriously fresh inspo
FANCY FRINGE
Aussie bombshell Margot Robbie stunned in a floral sleeveless Chanel dress, trading in her signature blonde locks for a caramel-coloured low ponytail and blunt fringe. Celebrity hairstylist Bryce Scarlett was behind the showstopping new look, revealing he used GHD products to execute Robbie’s red carpet look. Her Chanel ensemble was styled by Kate Young, while A-list makeup artist Pati Dubroff was behind the minimal glam – which used all Chanel Beauty, of course.
LIP LOVE
Vanessa Kirby’s sleek hair was styled by Virtue Labs creative director Adir Abergel, while her even more flawless makeup was all thanks to Gucci Beauty and makeup artist Jo Baker.
SOFT AND SMOKY
Setting the red carpet on fire with her stunning Alberta Ferretti gown, Angela Bassett switched up a traditional smoky eye by adding beautiful shades of blue. Makeup artist to the stars D’Andre Michael used the Lancôme Hypnôse 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette in Bleu Hypnotique. He used shade No. 4 (shimmer cobalt blue) over the entire eyelid and lower lid below the lashes. Then shade No. 5 (matte navy) on the upper and lower lash line, and blended out to the corners for dimension and a smoky eye effect. To finish, he used a blend of shades No. 1 (shimmer white) and No. 3 (gold) in the inner corners of her eyes.
BOBS ARE BACK!
Flaunting the bob to end all bobs, Halle Berry kept it simple with a red carpet glow courtesy of Jorge Monroy, and a chic new hairstyle: baby bangs and a sharp, angled ’do. “I’m my best self when I have super-short hair,” Berry’s said in the past. “That’s when I feel most like me and most confident.” Fellow starlet Regina King followed suit in the style stakes, showing off her blunt take on the trend.
