THE ACTRESS SPILLS ABOUT HER ON-SCREEN ROMANCE WITH RODGER CORSER

-

Chantelle Jamieson has joined the fifth season cast of Doctor Doctor as no-nonsense government official Sharna Bahit. But the actress knows that her arrival – and subsequent romance with Rodger Corser’s character Hugh – is set to ruffle some feathers.

“I feel conflicted,” Jamieson tells

WHO of getting embroiled in a love triangle with Hugh and Penny (Hayley McElhinney). “As someone who watched the show previously, I’ve been hoping that Hugh and Penny will finally get together. But Sharna comes into Whyhope and causes chaos that I can’t wait for you to see!”

We imagine starring as Rodger’s love interest isn’t a hard day at work?

No, it really isn’t a tough gig! Rodger is such a great actor and has a brilliant mind when it comes to telling a story.

Do you feel you have much in

common with Sharna? She’s driven in a way that I recognise, but is far more uncompromising than I am. I’m a bit of a soft touch, so if I thought I was upsetting people, I probably couldn’t do my job. Sharna doesn’t have that issue.

This month, we can also see you at the cinema in June Again and on stage in the Sydney production of Home, I’m Darling. Do you prefer stage or screen?

I love both. Stage is great because every performance is unique. But screen allows for the most minute detail to mean so much.

When you can hop on a plane and go anywhere in the world, where are you headed?

London. One of my best friends lives over there. The pandemic has been devastating for the UK, so I’d love to see her and give her the biggest hug.

(Doctor Doctor airs Wed., 8.30pm on Network Nine)
