After stepping out for a July 22 Omega-sponsored dinner at Nobu London, Lily Allen, chic in a Chanel top teamed with white sneakers, posted pics on Instagram of her stylish outing. Soon, she was fielding questions from concerned fans who took note of her small frame.

“Seriously, where do you get off ?” Allen, 36, responded to one since-deleted comment. “You know NOTHING about me or my lifestyle.”

Later, she offered more insight into that lifestyle after she shared a video of herself behind the scenes on The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan. “You’ve never seen me two years completely sober, not smoking and exercising every day,” Allen, who frequently posts pics in her workout wear, wrote after a fan implored that she “Please take care, dear”.

In the past, Allen, who married Stranger Things star David Harbour in September 2020, has been open about her body and addiction battles.

Early in her career, she suffered bulimia. “Part of me getting ready for a show would be to vomit for 20 minutes,” she told Cosmopolitan in 2018. “I just felt really fat and grotesque.”

After losing a son six months into her pregnancy in 2010, the singer welcomed two daughters with her ex, Sam Cooper – Ethel in 2011 and Marnie in 2013. Heading back to work after time out with her family, she struggled with body image. “I was like [88 kg] and just didn’t feel like a pop star at all,” she shared on The Recovery podcast in January. “I started taking this drug … which is like speed, to lose the weight.”

While on tour to support Miley Cyrus in 2014, she hit rock bottom. “I was supporting this girl who was much younger and more attractive than I felt,” she continued on the podcast. “I was thinking, ‘I think I have got a drinking problem ... maybe I should try heroin.’ I knew when that thought popped into my head it was time to confront my demons. And I started recovery.”
