AFTER CELEBRATING TWO YEARS TOGETHER, COULD A WALK DOWN THE AISLE BE ON THE CARDS FOR THESE YOUNG LOVERS?

Sitting underneath a tree in a park in Toronto on August 16, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes could easily have been mistaken for any other young couple in love. The singing superstars, who started dating in 2019 just after the release of their smash-hit single ‘Señorita’, didn’t appear to have a care in the world as they played with their dog Tarzan before sto pping for an intimate kiss during the outing.

It was a sweet sighting of the pair, who captured fans hearts with their propensity for pandemic walks in Miami, where they quarantined together for much of last year. And unlike other A-list couples, the pair are refreshingly unguarded about being in love.

“I probably have a nurturing attitude because I also like being nurtured. I’m lucky that my partner is the same way,” Cabello, 24, recently gushed to Bustle magazine. “There’s a lot of sweetness and tenderness [ between us]. I think we’re both sensitive. I’m really lucky to be able to surround myself with tenderness.”

Mendes, 23, is equally as enamoured, describing Cabello as his “person” earlier this year. “She’s been one of my best friends since I was, like, 15 years old,” he told Entertainment Tonight of the strong foundation they have.

While some have questioned the couple’s candid nature (see bubble), Mendes maintains things are very real between them. But he understands why it might seem to some as too good to be true. “I don’t think I’ll be able to write songs that really do it justice, that can really capture the things and the feelings with her,” he gushed in another interview. “I think it’s like when you see a moon or stars and you try to take a photo of it with your iPhone, and then you just can’t, it just doesn’t look good. And you’re like, ‘It’s not supposed to be captured.’ You know? It’s just supposed to be for us.”

It seems likely then that the pair will continue to stay quiet over whispers they are engaged – after Cabello was spotted sporting a diamond ring in a recent TikTok video. Though Mendes has previously shared that, despite their youth, marriage is definitely on the cards. “I really think when you know, you know,” he divulged. “I don’t want to jump, like, insanely fast, but I think when you find your person, you feel and you know that you have found your person.”

Mendes recently opened up about how lockdown has brought the pair closer. “We were so lucky because we were able to just kind of be in a still moment,” he gushed.

Mendes and Cabello even have a shared Instagram account, where they write notes to one another in their pooch Tarzan’s voice. “She’s got my back, and I think that’s what your partner is for,” Mendes has previously gushed.
