Kylie Jenner confirmed swirling rumours she was expecting her second child with boyfriend Travis Scott on September 7 by posting an emotional video on Instagram documenting her first trimester. “Kylie and Travis have talked about growing their family for a while and have always been on the same page with wanting more kids,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
However, they seem less in sync about their romantic journey. In recent months, their on-and-off couple status remained up in the air. “They have worked hard to create a family situation that’s best for them,” a source told WHO’s sister publication People magazine in May. “Being together 24/7 doesn’t work, so they still have separate homes. They are not exclusive, but Kylie isn’t seeing anyone else either.”
Although Jenner and Scott occasionally refer to each other as “hubby” and “wifey”, the pair reportedly don’t really consider themselves boyfriend and girlfriend. “There’s no expectations between them. There are no requirements in their relationship, it’s the way it’s always been,” says a Us Weekly source. “It’s not a traditional relationship, but it works for them and has worked for years.”
Jenner has, however, objected in the past to claims they are in an “open” relationship. “It’s just careless and disrespectful to throw this narrative out there without knowing what’s true,” she tweeted in May.
Keeping up with the ins and outs of the couple’s status is a tall order. The pair began dating in 2017 after hitting it off at Coachella music festival. Ten months later, Jenner gave birth to Stormi after keeping her pregnancy hidden from the public eye. “I was really young when I got pregnant, and it was just a lot for me personally,” she said during the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reunion in June. “I didn’t know how I would bring that to the public too and have everyone’s opinion.”

2019, months after rumours first surfaced the rapper had cheated
– reports that he vehemently denied. “Travis and I are on great terms and our main focus right now is Stormi,” Jenner, 24, tweeted at the time.
Their connection as co-parents remained strong and they rekindled their spark while self-isolating together for the sake of their 3-year-old daughter during the coronavirus pandemic. A second baby on the way seems to have sealed the deal.
“Kylie and Travis have an unconventional relationship, but it really works for the both of them,” the Us Weekly source says. “The baby has absolutely brought them even closer together.”
The make-up mogul’s mum Kris Jenner, while thrilled to welcome her 11th grandchild, is reportedly keen to see more commitment for her daughter. “She wants to see Kylie in a relationship with Travis,” a source tells Hollywood Life. “Not just be co-parents or friends with benefits.”
