Imagine not being able to read a text message, find your bus, use the internet – or admit this to your family and friends. While the statistic might sound shocking in modern-day Australia, over 43 per cent of adults Down Under don’t have the necessary literacy skills needed for everyday life. In this uplifting series, former Home and Away star and host Jay Laga’aia helps to shine a light on the nation’s low literacy rates – bringing together eight Aussies hoping to improve their reading and writing.
