THE DUCHESS SHARES A TOUCHING MOMENT WITH HER FATHER IN LAW ON THE RED CARPET

Prince Charles usually presents a stiff upper lip when he makes a public appearance. But the heir to the throne couldn’t help showing off how proud he is of his daughter-in-law when the Cambridges joined him and the Duchess of Cornwall, 74, at the premiere of No Time to Die.

After meeting each other on the red carpet, Charles and Kate flashed megawatt smiles as they embraced each other. Charles then tenderly kissed the duchess on her cheek as the pair appeared to enjoy a private joke.

“[Charles and Kate’s bond] has been growing into a very close and rather tight relationship in terms of Charles’ habit of appearing to single Kate out for attention and shared laughter while Camilla and William will often retreat to watch,” body language expert Judi James told The Sun. Kate hasn’t just been “a rock” for William after his brother Harry moved to the US, she’s also been instrumental in helping to improve his relationship with his dad.

While it has been widely reported that Charles and his eldest son have frequently “butted heads” over the future role they see for the monarchy, Kate has encouraged the Prince of Wales to regularly visit their country home, Anmer Hall.

With Charles embroiled in a new cashfor-honours scandal, after The Times alleged his long-term aide, Michael Fawcett, “fixed” a CBE honour for a Saudi tycoon who donated more than $2.8 million to royal charities, he will need the Cambridges to stand steadily by his side more than ever.

“Because [Will and Kate] are, I would say almost more popular than Charles and Camilla, they’ve probably been given a higher role,” royal expert Andrew Lownie told British newspaper The Express of the pair.
