WHO

INSIDE HER FINAL WEEKS

-

November 2009 Murphy, husband Monjack (below, on Nov. 17) and her mum, Sharon, travel to Puerto Rico to film the horror movie The Caller. She’s fired after the first day for her erratic behaviour. Producers say Monjack was drunk on-set.

Nov. 28, 2009 Monjack and Sharon catch a respiratory infection in Puerto Rico. On the flight home Monjack has what he later describes as a “mild heart attack.” He says Murphy gave him CPR on the plane.

December 2009 Murphy becomes ill, reportedly after catching the same infection. She takes prescription drugs including an antibiotic, an anti-inflammatory, a beta blocker and the painkiller Vicoprofen, but doesn’t see a doctor as she gets sicker.

Dec. 1, 2009 Murphy attends one of her last public events – the premiere of her film Across the Hall, where she looks extremely thin. “I remember her shaking a little bit,” says director Alex Merkin.

Dec. 20, 2009 Murphy collapses at home in LA. She is taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital, where she is pronounced dead.

Feb. 4, 2010 An autopsy report is released with pneumonia and severe anemia listed as her causes of death, though drugs including Vicoprofen and cold medicine were also found in her system. The coroner’s report states no illegal drugs are in her system.

May 23, 2010 Monjack dies in the house they shared, also from acute pneumonia and severe anemia, with prescription drugs found in his system.
