TAKING CHARGE

A simple fall was the wake-up call that led Jennifer Gardner, 59, to be diagnosed with osteoporosis. “I had a trip and fell, fracturing and shattering my little finger in my left hand,” she reveals. The diagnosis sent Gardner on a mission to take control of her condition, so that she can live her best life possible. “I’m going to be a grandmother and I want to be a fabulous, active grandmother,” she says. “I do weight-bearing exercise. I feel I have taken control and I no longer want to live being frightened of osteoporosis.”
