MODERN MANSION
THE MODEL PUTS DOWN ROOTS IN FLORIDA
After renting a home in South Florida, Kate Upton and husband Justin Verlander have decided to set up a more permanent base in the Sunshine State. The model, 29, and the professional baseball player, 38, splashed out just under $8.6 million on a stunning four-bedroom waterfront mansion in the exclusive Jupiter neighbourhood.
The couple and their 2-year-old daughter Genevieve reside in the area for several months each year as Verlander’s team, the Houston Astros, use Florida as their base for spring training. The spacious 429 square-metre home has everything the pair need to keep their toddler occupied and enjoy some downtime.
The sprawling estate offers plenty of room for Genevieve to play, panoramic water views of the Loxahatchee River, marina access and a floodlit pool. Inside, the mansion boasts five and a half bathrooms with luxe marble finishes, open-plan spaces and a huge kitchen.
With the pitcher currently sidelined due to injury, Verlander is getting more time at home with his family than usual – and he and Genevieve are sure to be taking advantage of their own minigolf course!
“I think [Genevieve] thinks [her dad is] actually a golfer,” Upton revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “She’s seen him golf more than she’s seen him play baseball.”
