THE AUTHOR CHATS TO WHO ABOUT HER BRILLIANT NEW NOVEL

-

For Sally Hepworth, there were “two little kernels” that sparked the inspiration for her new tome. The rst one was a call from her great aunt. “She rang me and said, ‘I’m in hospital,’ and the most important thing on her mind was that I went past her house and got this hot water bottle,” Hepworth recalls to WHO. “I went to get it, and it was lled with cash, tens of thousands of dollars.”

The other was a few close friends’ fathers had recently remarried women many years their junior, hence, The Younger Wife was born. The story follows two sisters who are livid after discovering their father is seeing a woman their own age, especially considering he is still married to their mother, who is in care with Alzheimer’s disease. When an engagement is announced, old wounds and family secrets will resurface in this thrilling family drama. (Out now)
