3 things to know about … BRIDGERTON

THE TON IS LOOKING HOTTER THAN EVER AS WE GET A FIRST LOOK AT SEASON

-

It’s been 13 long months since Lady Whistledown caught us up on the gossip regarding our favourite siblings from the ton, but the wait is almost over! To whet our appetites, Net ix has given us a rst look at the upcoming second season – and dare we say it, it looks even better than the rst.

As we count down the nal weeks till Bridgerton is back on the air, here are three things you need to know about the Regency romance drama …

IT’S ALL ABOUT KATE

Move over, Phoebe Dynevor, there is a new girl in town. With Daphne (Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page) all loved up and living in the country with their growing brood, attention turns to the oldest Bridgerton brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and his search for a suitable wife.

Enter Sex Education’s Simone Ashley as our new leading lady, Kate Sharma. She is described as “a smart, headstrong young woman who su ers no fools”, and doesn’t hesitate to put Anthony in his place.

IT’S FINE TO READ THE BOOKS

With the hit show being based on a series of eight novels by Julia Quinn, you may be wondering if you’ll ruin your enjoyment of the show by reading ahead. Fear not, as there are still plenty of surprises in store for those who’ve already devoured the books.

Season two will feature a new character with a mysterious connection to the Bridgerton clan. Jack (Rupert Young) doesn’t even appear in the print version, so his storyline is a complete secret.

A PREQUEL IS IN THE WORKS

Can’t get enough of sassy, whip-smart Queen Charlotte? You’re in good company! The character, who is brought to life by Golda Rosheuvel, is getting her own spin-o show. The new series will focus on the teen years of the unluckyin-love queen, who’s based on a real person, and delve into the romance of the Bridgerton clan’s parents, Violet and Edmund.
