THE THOR STAR SLIPS BACK INTO AUSTRALIA AND ENJOYS AN ALFRESCO FROLIC WITH HER HUSBAND
After leaving the country suddenly six months ago, Natalie Portman and her family have quietly returned – and they certainly seem happy about it! Back in the city she called home for most of 2020 and 2021 while filming Thor: Love and Thunder, the American actress canoodled with her husband of almost 10 years, Benjamin Millepied. Enjoying a children’s birthday party at Sydney’s Bronte Beach on February 20, the couple indulged in sweet PDA. From sharing passionate kisses to resting a protective hand on Portman’s stomach, these two couldn’t have appeared more loved up. The actress, 40, and her French dancer husband, 44, bolted for the border in August last year after she pulled out of Days of Abandonment right before it was to begin filming in Sydney, citing “unforeseen personal reasons” . Her exit from the project effectively ended production of the film, based on the bestselling novel by Elena Ferrante.
But Portman clearly holds a soft spot for Australia, telling TV host Jimmy Kimmel that her son, Aleph, 10, and daughter, Amalia, 5, quickly became honorary Aussies, accents included. “They say lollies [now] instead of candy, tomato sauce instead of ketchup,” she laughed. “When you want what you want, you gotta say it like the locals.”
And it looks like she and her family may be harbouring dreams of becoming locals for good. In 2021, she was seen touring a sprawling property in NSW’s Hunter Valley alongside Millepied. At the time, the New York Post reported that Portman might be expecting her third child.
