VICTORIA’S FASHION CRISIS

FROM RAGS TO RICHES AND BACK AGAIN?

-

According to a report by UK’s The Mirror, Victoria Beckham’s high-end fashion label is currently carrying debts of close to $100 million, with almost $50 million owed to the Beckhams’ other business ventures. A spokesperson for Victoria Beckham Holdings, whose highpriced clothes have been worn by the likes of Beyoncé, Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow since its 2008 launch, confirmed the figures to The Mirror, noting that the total revenue loss of 6 per cent was “due to the effects of the global pandemic”.

Despite the losses, friends tell Daily Mail she is unlikely to give up on the company. “This is what gives Victoria her identity,” says a source. “She loves it and, despite its obvious obstacles, she is a grafter and hugely passionate about it.” And in fashion news that’s been applauded, the mother of four has decided to branch out by expanding her label’s sizing to include body types up to a size 18. “Finally Victoria has caught up. It’s great and she is extremely proud of her new collection. There is a whole new customer out there to buy her products – but let’s face it, it has taken her a while ... at least she is changing things.”

Victoria herself said, “I think women today want to look healthy, and curvy. They want to have some boobs and a bum. It’s not about being a certain size. It’s about knowing who you are and being happy with who you are.”
