THE SUPERMAN STAR CONFIRMS HE’S ABOUT TO BE A DAD
Fatherhood – now there’s a job for Superman! British actor Henry Cavill has announced that he is expecting his first child with girlfriend Natalie Viscuso. Speaking to Access Hollywood on April 16 at the premiere of his latest film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, the 40-year-old shared the happy news that “Natalie and I are both very excited” for their next chapter.
When asked whether his co-star, father-of two Henry Golding, had inspired him to become a dad, the star of Argylle and Man of Steel responded, “He didn’t inspire me, my parents did. I’m very excited about it … I’m sure you’ll see much more of that.”
His confirmation they will soon be a family of three came a day after Cavill and TV executive Viscuso, who was sporting what looked to the world like a baby bump, stepped out on a date in New York City. Cavill has previously spoken about fatherhood and how it would influence his approach to his health and fitness.
“If I ever have kids one day, I want to be the dad who’s running around after them,” he told Men’s Health in 2017. “If I do have kids … I want to be a fit and healthy dad, not hobbling around like, ‘OK, I’m just going to catch a breather.’”
Rumours of the couple’s romance first began to surface in early April 2021 after the pair were snapped taking a stroll in London. A few days later, they confirmed their relationship status on Instagram, with the duo both sharing a snap of themselves playing a game of chess.
“Just teaching my dear Henry how to play some chess … or … maybe he let me win?” she wrote.
