If you own a Kindle, a Nook, or any other e-book reader, you’re unlikely to be short of space (books are small, and their memory is generally quite large) but you will know that managing a large library of books can be something of a pain. Calibre is the perfect tool; drop your files in, and you can sort them, relabel them, convert them from one format to another, and upload them selectively to whatever device you use.
Calibre isn’t only good for organisation, though: it’s an excellent book reader in its own right, with touchscreen support and a rendering engine that makes your books look great. It’s even compatible with titles bought from the Kindle store – if you install and use the DeDRM plugin to sanitise them first – and you can use it to manage digital titles you’ve rented from your local library, too.
