£99\Asus Prime B350-Plus
One of our favourite budget motherboards (or ‘mobos’) of late, Asus’s B350-Plus is a nice compromise between price and feature set. This packed ATX board has support for M.2, six SATA 6Gb/s hard drives, and even multiple GPUs (although, you should bear in mind that the Athlon we’re using won’t support more than one). On top of that, it’s bursting with a plethora of rear I/O, from eight USB ports to Ethernet- out, 3.1 audio, DVI-I, VGA, HDMI, and even an old-school PS/2 combi port.
You could effectively save more money here if you’re thinking of doing your own build by opting for a microATX board instead (in fact, Gigabyte does the GAAB350M-DS3H, with HDMI and Ethernet, for £60 currently). However, our OCD desire to get a reasonable ATX mobo to fit inside our ATX case won over in the end.
