Posh & Becks Twin surrogacy joy!

-

‘Victoria can’t believe she’s going to be a mother of six!’

When David Beckham’s best mate Gordon Ramsay announced that he and his wife Tana are expecting their fifth child together, fans wondered how Becks would feel.

Doting dad David, 41, regularly waxes lyrical about the joys of fatherhood and has said he’d love a fifth child with wife Victoria.

“The Beckhams were some of the first people Gordon and Tana told,” a source tells. “They’ve known for five weeks, and Gordon’s been bragging non-stop about how he’ll soon have enough for his five-aside football team.”

Now, it seems Gordon’s taunts have roused David’s competitive side. A source close to the former football star and his wife has revealed exclusively to Woman’s Day that he and Victoria have chosen to turn to a surrogate to add to their family a final time.

Shock move

In even more exciting news for the couple, they’ve just found out they’re having twins.

“They couldn’t be happier about it,” our insider says. “David, in particular, is thrilled.

“Victoria is a little overwhelmed. She just laughs and says, ‘What have we done?’ But she is very happy too, and can’t quite believe she is a going to be a mother of six!”

The news comes after the pair looked more loved-up than ever in Mexico last week, attending the wedding of Victoria’s good friend Eva Longoria.

The former Spice Girl, who has thrown herself into her work as a fashion designer, was reportedly hesitant about adding to their family again. Indeed, last year the 42-year-old announced she was “done having children”.

But seeing Eva, 41, excited about the prospect of starting her own family – reports suggest she is planning to adopt – was enough to sway Posh.

“Everyone the Beckhams are close to seems to be talking about babies at the moment,” our source continues. “It’s made Posh incredibly broody.”

It’s believed Victoria, who gave birth to all four of her children – Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 11, and four-year-old Harper – via C-section, was adamant giving birth herself would not be an option.

Dr Magdalena Simonis from The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners agrees a fifth caesarean is simply not possible.

“Four really is the maximum. The reason is the scar can silently come apart,” Dr Simonis tells Woman’s Day. “It puts both baby and mother at risk.”

With stay-at-home dad David desperate for another child, and Victoria finally coming around to the idea, the pair turned to their good friend – and godfather to Brooklyn and Romeo – Elton John, for advice.

Sir Elton, 69, and his partner David Furnish, 53, had their sons Zachary, five, and Elijah, three, via a surrogate.

“Elton has been a great help to them and has been advising them all the way,” our insider continues.

It’s believed the Beckhams have been in constant contact with the woman they’ve chosen to be their surrogate – who they found through the same agency Elton and David used, California’s Center for Surrogate Parenting. They’re confident they’ve picked the right woman for the job.

Renewed romance

For David and Victoria, the past year has been difficult as they’ve faced endless divorce rumours.

Indeed, as Woman’s Day reported last year, the couple went through a rough patch when their differing schedules and Posh’s dedication to her fashion line seemed to come between them.

“After so many problems in their marriage in the past year

or two, they decided a baby is the ideal way to seal the deal on their renewed happiness. They’ve worked very hard at their relationship these past few months,” another source says. “Victoria is not as uptight as she used to be and she is much more attentive to David. In the past, she always seemed to put work first, but now they devote much more time to each other. They’re like newlyweds all over again.”

Baby names

While the Beckhams are yet to find out the sex of their babies, they’ve begun talking about names. Friends say it would be a dream come true if they had a girl and a boy.

“Right now they’re liking the sound of Gage for a girl and Ward for a boy,” the friend says. “But, like most parents, they will probably change their minds many times before the twins are born.”
