The TV presenter has gone from mumsy style to model material
She was named one of the best-dressed stars on the Logies red carpet, and it’s easy to see why. Rocking a chic cutaway Carla Zampatti gown with criss-cross detail on the chest, Melissa Doyle looked a million bucks. But it wasn’t just her slender frame and youthful glow that made everyone sit up and take notice.
Red-hot mama
Once known for her “mumsy” fashion sense, the Sunday Night host’s style evolution proves you’re never too old to bring sexy back.
“I am a mother. I have two children. It doesn’t mean I can’t rock a pair of high heels as well as any other chick out there, and enjoy life,” says the 46-year-old, who has dropped 10 kilos since leaving Sunrise in 2013.
“There are so many labels that seem to come with motherhood. Beyonce is a mum, but she’s not called mumsy,” she laughs, adding she’s glad to have bade farewell to the dark circles under her eyes after 14 years of breakfast TV.
“It took my body time to get back into a natural rhythm, and I feel so much healthier for it.”
Designer’s dream
“I am happy. I love it, I was ready for a change,” Mel reveals of her new look, adding her preferred designers include Carla Zampatti, David Lawrence, Aurelio Costarella and Magdalena Velevska.
“I’m old enough now to know what I like and what I don’t,” she explains. “That only came, for me, with time and age.”
Meanwhile, Mel’s transformation hasn’t gone unnoticed by the viewing public.
“Holy moly, she’s changed,” one fan wrote on Instagram.
