She’s one of our best talents, and unlike some of her Home and nd Away co-stars, Bonnie’s in no rush to o crack Hollywood.

With a blossoming g career here in Australia, she’s the first to admit she’s worked too hard to get to where she e is today and has no plans on leaving anytimee soon.

“I did live in the US prior to my time on Home and Away but it was too far from home,” says the 27-year-old, who stars in n Seven’s new drama The Secret Daughter alongside de Jessica Mauboy.

“We have a great industryy here that I don’t need to sacrifice my family or home for, and I want to explore possibilities es here.”

Of her role in the new drama, ama, the Logie winner says she really identifiedtified with playing backup singer Layla Chapple,e, who is best friends with Jessica’s Billie Carter, a country pub singer on a mission to uncover the truth about her family.

“There was once a time when I knew what I wanted to achieve professionally but was unsure if it could happen, because I grew up in a remote area,” she says of her childhood spent in the Huon Valley in Tasmania.

“I can definitely identify with Layla. It’s amazing to play a character who wasn’t born with a silver spoon and has to take risks to accomplish her dreams.”

But the question on every Home and Away fan’s lips is will Ricky ever return to the bay?

“I wouldn’t say no,” Bonnie says. “I have high hopes and dreams, so if I do come back it would be after I pursued those.”
