Woman’s Day (Australia)

The Block It’s off!

Their dream day is in tatters thanks to mounting drama

Planning a wedding is a stressful time for any couple, but for The Block’s Will and Karlie it’s proving to be more of a nightmare.

Just months out from what should be their big day, the high school sweethearts, both 25, are on the brink of calling it off due to lack of funds and organisation.

“We had no time to organise our wedding while we were on The Block,” says Will, who o wants nothing more than to marry the woman of his dreams in a laidback affair in Byron Bay.

“To be honest, we are quite worried some vendors we wanted for our wedding will be booked out considering how little time is left until our big day.”

Pressure sets in

But it’s the dilemma of finding the perfect wedding dress that’s really stressed out Karlie.

“Now filming has stopped I’m especially worried about my dress, as that’s one big thing I haven’t been able to sort out yet,” says the bride-to-be.

To make matters worse for the couple, Karlie says they’ve been struggling financially since filming for the reality TV show wrapped up.

“We haven’t been at work for months, and with our bills and mortgage still coming out every month, we’ve reached the point we’re eating into our wedding savings just to get by.”

Chatting about their time on The Block, Karlie admits it made their relationship stronger.

“Will and I are a great team, even under pressure. To know we got through such a mammoth task as The Block and we still love each other and still want to get married is a massive thing.

“I think now we’ll be able to get through just about anything that’s thrown our way.”
