Dolly comes clean about real Jolene

Country singer Dolly Parton is promising to reveal the true story behind her 1973 hit Jolene in a movie she’s writing. In the song she tells of an auburn-haired woman who she begs not to steal her husband. Dolly, 70, explained that Jolene was a bank teller in the town where she and her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, lived at the time. “I can’t hold back on who Jolene is or her status as a homewrecker,” says Dolly.
