Woman’s Day (Australia)

Possibly like most people, I ate way too much over Christmas and New Year. My husband and I went away for Christmas and spent our days drinking cocktails and eating enormous hotel buffet breakfasts complete with French toast and waffles, always intending to swim off the calories, but always falling asleep by the pool instead. I’m not complainin­g – it was lovely – but now’s the time for my New Year’s resolution­s to kick in. I’ve been up and at it every day, walking and swimming in an attempt to lose that spare tyre… So it was with great interest that I read our Cracker Test (p54). It’s the new diet phenomenon that will have you rethinking how you eat: you chew a cracker (without the cheese, sorry!) and time how long it takes before it tastes sweet, then reap the rewards by adjusting your diet and dropping a dress size fast! Turns out I should really lower my carb intake if I want to drop the kilos… looks like it’s goodbye waffles!
