Wiggles wedding Simon and Lauren tie the knot in Sydney
Red Wiggle Simon Pryce ties the knot! The Wiggles star weds his beautiful bride at Luna Park
Simon admits he was worried he would cry tears of joy when he married his sweetheart Lauren Hannaford – but instead the “most amazing day” of his life was full of love and laughter!
The only tears came from friends who shared in this celebration, overwhelmed by the depth of feeling between Simon and “Loz”, the gorgeous personal trainer he met during a Wiggles tour six years ago.
“Oh, wow!” gasped Simon mon when he finally saw his bride ide in her gown, a specially designedigned J’aton Couture French lacece dress with a show-stoppingng train and floor-length veil,l, which Loz says made her feel like a queen.
In fact, Simon, 44, needed a few deep breaths to compose himself because he was so “overcome with emotion” when Loz arrived 28 minutes late on the arm of her proud dad, David, and proceeded ed to walk down a white carpetpet scattered with rose petals.
The bride looked so spectacular that the 100 guestsguests spontaneously applauded before
shes even reached the floral arch wherew Simon, or Si as Loz calls him,h was patiently waiting with a huge smile on his face.
The laughs came soon after, a as Loz begged the guests for a m minute while she fixed her hair!
Celebrant Nina De Borde m married the couple, telling family a and friends it was a testament to t the strength and depth of their l love and their desire to make it f forever, before adding that the c couple didn’t agree with the legal w wording because they believed i in marriage equality and felt all A Australians should be able to s share the joy of marriage.
It was one of the few serious m moments in a short ceremony i in which Nina revealed that Loz f fell in love with Si’s “incredibly k kind heart” and loved that he was e emotionally open, calling him
the “greatest h human ever ihin her lif life”. ”
The couple held hands and giggled as they exchanged vows, promising each other a life of unconditional love, honesty and respect filled with fun and laughter, before exchanging rings and kissing as they were declared husband and wife.
The reception in a grand room overlooking Sydney Harbour, and
heady with the scent of 4000 flowers – a mix of white roses, garden hydrangeas, lisianthus and orchids imported from Ecuador – was filled with yet more love and laughter, if that was possible.
“I’m excited by the thought of seeing Loz and I get butterflies in my stomach – but today it’s more like a flock of seagulls,” Simon told guests in his speech, adding that seeing his bride arrive looking like the most beautiful woman in the world was on another level. “Every second of every day Loz, I thank you for loving me.”
He also thanked Blue Wiggle Anthony Field for bringing the two of them together by hiring Lauren – a renowned personal trainer and former national champion gymnast – to keep the Wiggles in top touring shape all those years ago.
Anthony – who was a guest at the ceremony along with newlywed Wiggles Emma Watkins and Lachy Gillespie, and original Wiggles Murray Cook and Jeff Fatt – says he reckons the two of them would have found each other without his help.
“They were always going to find each other,” Anthony adds. “I think the universe would have brought them together, they belong together.”
