Tom isn’t the only one causing concern. While the 50-year-old’s mug shot loomed large in the UK press last week, his sister has also been making headlines.

Samantha – who, like Tom, is Meghan’s half-sibling from their dad’s first marriage – hasn’t been shy in making her thoughts about the actress known.

It’s reported the 52-year-old hasn’t seen her half-sister in nine years – but that didn’t stop her lashing out, alleging Meghan is a “social climber” who has treated her family poorly. But the twicedivorced mum-of- three, who has multiple sclerosis and uses a wheelchair, later told reporters she’d been misquoted: “I love Meghan and would never say these things.”

Regardless, it wasn’t the first time she’s shamed Meghan, and the royals fear she’s trouble.

Samantha even tried to get a restraining order against her own mother in 2015. She also filed for bankruptcy in 2003 – something that appears to be a recurring issue in the Markle family.

In the past 20 years, Meghan’s father Thomas Sr, 72, has had four legal claims made against him after failing to repay debt, and he filed for bankruptcy last year with more than $40,000 in credit card debt. Meanwhile, the former lighting d director’s first wife Roslyn Markle – who is mum to Samantha and Tom Jr – has had her own problems.

She also has her reservations about the rest of the Markles, and is estranged from her daughter, claiming Samantha “just wants money. She has always demanded money from Meghan.”

One saving grace for Meghan is her own mum, 60-year-old Doria Ragland.

Despite filing for bankruptcy in 2002, Doria has worked hard ever since. And as per royal protocol, she has refused to comment on her daughter’s relationship with 32-year-old Harry.

It’s believed the prince is doing everything he can to comfort Meghan. Those close to him say he’s furious with 69-year-old Camilla for stirring up trouble, as insiders say he’s desperate to marry Meghan this year.

“Harry has always found it difficult to connect with Camilla. He’s warm, fun and emotional, while she’s always seemed aloof and severe,” our source says.

“Now this new situation with Meghan is doing nothing to help their relationsh relationship.”
