Health Drop a dress size; Lisa Curry’s jungle body

Th I’M a Celeb contestant shares her body secrets

Arriving in the jungle with her trademark cheeky grin and a new spring in her step, newly engaged Lisa Curry has never looked happier or healthier!

Even the critters and tucker trials can’t dampen her spirits. And it’s all thanks to finding happiness with her fiance, Elvis tribute artist Mark Tabone.

“Mark loves me how I am. If I do criticise myself, he says, ‘Babe, stop worrying, you look beautiful.’ He’s taught me to be much calmer and less reactive,” she reveals.

Former Olympian Lisa, 54, says she’s always felt the pressure to be slim – but has grown to accept it’s OK to be happy and healthy rather than super-fit.

“I’ve spent my life comparing my current self to my Olympic physique, but now I realise that’s pointless,” she says.

“I accidentally dropped and smashed my scales before Christmas, and I’m not replacing them – it’s so empowering!”

But it’s not just ditching the scales and finding love with her hubby-to-be that’s helped Lisa feel more confident. The fitness entrepreneur reveals she’s been following her own 10-week KISS wellbeing program along with her daughter Morgan, 26, in the run-up to her wedding.

“Motivation is crucial, and Morgan and I really push each other. She got married last year, so now she’s helping me prep for my upcoming wedding to Mark!” explains Lisa, who’s also mum to Jaimi, 29, and Jett, 22.

Lisa’s program, which stands for Keep it Simple Sweetheart, is designed to suit everyone. “Committing to a clean diet and an effective exercise plan five out of seven days is the key,” she says of her approach.

“If you go out for dinner have what you want, within reason, but get back to healthy choices again the next day.”

The program includes daily meal plans, exercises you can do at home and motivational videos from Lisa, that combine to help you lose between 6-12kg.

When it comes to exercising, Lisa’s all about balance – and she recommends the same for others.

“Walking the dog or taking a stroll on the beach are great for your emotional wellbeing, but try to add three challenging exercise sessions a week,” she says.

“This helps build or maintain muscle, which increases your metabolism and helps burn fat. Drills up and down hills or stairs are really great, and functional exercises such as squats and lunges increase your heartart rate. rate.”

Feeling inspired? Go on, give Lisa’s do-anywhere workout a go. “I’ve had people follow my program and lose 10, 20, 30 or even more kilos, and turn their life around,” she says. “As I get older I’ve never been more confident and happy. When you find your happy place, life is good.”
