When it comes to Delta Goodrem Casanova Karl is head over heels!

Top Deck chocolates, a dozen dusty-pink roses and handwritten notes sent to her dressing room… old-fashioned romantic Karl Stefanovic is desperate to woo Delta Goodrem and will stop at nothing to win her heart!

After rumours surfaced the Today co-host had his eye on the the 32-year-old singer, Delta has told friends that Karl, 42, has been bombarding her with text messages in the hope she’ll agree to date him.

“Karl has been smitten with Delta for months. She’s batted him away repeatedly, but it’s just made him keener,” a source close to the singer says. “He’s made it clear he’s pretty besotted with her and he’s been going all-out to get her attention.”

In fact, the TV host is so smitten friends say he’s pulling out all the stops to impress Delta – hoping she’ll finally start to see him as more than just a friend.

“Karl has been making little romantic gestures like sending flowers to her dressing room or dropping off a box of Top Deck chocolate bars, knowing they’re her favourite,” says a source.

“He also knows how much she loves the movie Grease, and bought a special collector’s edition copy for her birthday in November. He’s got a reputation for being a larrikin but he’s a real romantic at heart.

“He constantly showers Delta with compliments and will send her messages about how much he adores her and puts her on a pedestal – even admitting that he’s watched hours of her music videos on Youtube.”

Back in the dating game after splitting from his wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn, Karl’s never hidden his feelings for Delta.

“I love Delta,” he gushed while talking about the starar on Today last year, beforee describing her as “beautiful” fful” and “intelligent”.

Friends even think his desperate bid to rid himselfel lf of his dad bod by hiring a personal trainer could be down to feeling the need to compete with the kind of men Delta normally dates, such as her ex, rugby player Drew Mitchell.

But while Delta has always had a connection with Karl and can’t help but be flattered by all the e attention he’s lavishing on her, it’s not likely she’lll start dating the popular media personality any time soon.

“Delta has always had a soft spot for Karl, but she’s so tunnelvisioned on relaunching her TV career – and having another stab at breaking into the US – that she just can’t afford to be distracted,” reveals an insider.

“Her management have her on a strict man ban, and have said under no circumstances is she allowed to talk about or be seen dating someone in public.”

As for Karl, it’s unlikely he’ll be giving up his mission.

“Karl knows how Delta loves to be romanced, and he’s made no secret of telling her that if she gave him a chance, he could make her very happy.”
