Jen’s pain Justin and Naomi too close for comfort
The A-list actress fears her marriage is on the brink after Justin is caught getting cosy with his old friend Naomi
They’re the photos that break her heart each and every time she looks at them, but friends tell Woman’s Day Jennifer Aniston simply can’t help herself.
After seeing pictures of her husband Justin Theroux getting cosy with his former co-star Naomi Watts at an event in New York last week, insiders say Jen is completely and utterly devastated.
Now, amid confirmation from onlookers – who say Justin and 48-year-old Naomi were speaking in whispers and shared a lengthy embrace at the event for US fitness guru Taryn Toomey – Jen is determined to stay strong. But insiders reveal deep down the former Friends star fears her marriage is days from coming to a tragic end, only 18 months after she and Justin said “I do”.
Insiders say Jen, who turns 48 this week, is kicking herself for not previously questioning the chemistry between her husband and the Aussie star.
The pair have been friends since they starred together in the 2001 film Mulholland Drive, but Jen always thought they were just good mates. She didn’t even give it a second thought when Naomi announced her split from actor Liev Schreiber, her partner of 11 years, last September.
“Jen feels betrayed,” a close friend tells Woman’s Day. “She knew Justin was attending the event, but never expected to see Naomi there too. And their body language made it clear to her that they’re a whole lot closer than she ever realised.
“When Jen confronted Justin about the pictures days later, he told her she was being ridiculous,” the friend adds. “But she keeps looking at the photos of Naomi and Justin – and that hug is a little too tight and their embrace a little too loving.
They were all over each other and Jen can’t get it out of her mind, no matter how hard she tries.”
Jen’s fears her husband and Naomi are more than just friends are being amplified by speculation they were romantically linked while filming Mulholland Drive. The rumours were around at the time and they’ve resurfaced after fans saw the pair hanging out once more last week.
“There was always a lot of sexual tension between them,” an on-set insider recalls. “And it seemed like they were spending a lot of time together when the cameras stopped rolling.”
Another friend adds, “Jen always ignored the whispers about Justin and Naomi, especially as it was so long ago and stars always get linked with the people they work with. But now she has suspicions they really did have a fling. Even worse, she worries they see each other as unfinished business.”
Jen’s heartbreaking discovery follows months of speculation that she and 45-year-old -year-old Justin have been strugglingggling to see eye to eye. Amid rumours mours Jen’s first husband Brad Pitt has caused tension between n the couple by relying on Jen inn the aftermath of his s split with Angelina Jolieolie in September, the couple have also been spending large amounts of time apart thanks to their conflicting work schedules, leading ing many to think they may want different things. “Right now the only thing she can do is stay strong and put on a brave face. Of course, she’s hoping she and Justin can make things work, but just like whenn she and Brad split, Jen knows she has to carry on no matter what.”
