With her big hair, tiny waist and striking features, you could be forgiven for thinking you’re looking at old modelling shots of Cindy Crawford. But these stunning images are of Tziporah Malkah before life took her on a very different path to the US supermodel. It’d be easy to assume the woman once known as Kate Fischer is filled with regrets after returning from America broke, single and “morbidly obese”, but the 43-year-old former model, actress and TV presenter is instead embracing her second chance at fame – and she’s determined to get fit and healthy. The nurse says she is happier today than when she was dripping in diamonds, travelling to exotic destinations on private jets and living in the amazing house at Bondi Beach that she shared with billionaire fiance James Packer, until their break-up in 1998.

One of the main reasons for Tziporah’s happiness has been discovering her Jewish heritage after a lifetime searching for a higher purpose, and trying everything from Scientology to the Hillsong Church to achieve some sort of enlightenment.

The day she found out she was Jewish (after being raised as an Anglican by her parents) was the “best moment” of her entire life, and led her to change her name legally and adopt Israel as her spiritual homeland.

“I’ve had a very, very strange life, with lots of ups and downs,” she revealed on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! last week.

Even a recent warning that she needs to trim down her 118kg frame or face an early death hasn’t dimmed her enthusiasm, but rather made her determined to overhaul her diet and declare she is ready to make a comeback.

She desperately wants to be a role model for other women struggling with their weight, and has even hinted she’s ready for love, revealing on I’m A Celeb… that she has a secret boyfriend after six years of celibacy.

The former Vogue covergirl says she’s been missing her new man, a friend she knew when she was a teenager, who now lives in South Australia.

“As soon as I get a couple of weeks off, I’m going to go and stay in a hotel within walking distance from him and see how it goes,” she says.

“We’ve discussed there might not be any physical chemistry between us, but we’re getting on really well on the phone,” she continues. “We’ve had marathon phone calls, we’re like teenagers. We spent seven hours on the phone together one night. It’s ridiculous.”
