Emails allegedly leaked from David’s personal account last week reveal he was desperate for a knighthood. When his 2013 campaign to be made “Sir David” failed, the former football star dubbed the Honours Committee “unappreciative c***ts”. David went on to say: “Unless it’s a knighthood f*** off”. The shocking exchanges between David and his publicity team also suggest he demanded Unicef pay $10,850 for a business class flight. “There’s no way it should be costing me anything,” David allegedly wrote. He also slammed the OBE awarded to singer Katherine Jenkins – with whom he is rumoured to have had an affair – as “a f**king joke”. David’s spokesperson says the emails were “hacked and doctored”.

The emails suggest David’s charity work was just for show.
