Jen misses out on kids again…

She desperately wants to see her brother’s children, but it hasn’t worked out that way

-

After all but giving up on her baby dream, heartbroken Jennifer Aniston has been dealt another cruel blow.

While the star has always loved children but has never started a family of her own, she’s said to be devastated her half-brother Alex “AJ” Aniston is spending very little time with his newborn daughter and adorable little boy.

AJ, who calls himself Aja Nezitic as well as AJ Indavan to distance himself from the Aniston name, is said to be living in squalid conditions in a town just north of LA, and has only sporadic contact with his and Jen’s dad John.

He shares two children with his ex, makeup artist and tattoo model Adriane Hallek – daughter Kira, 10 months, and son Ryat, two – but friends claim he has little involvement in their upbringing. “AJ rarely sees either of his children,” a source close to Adriane claims.

News of AJ’S absence from his children’s lives has reportedly broken Jen’s heart, the 48-yearold having made no secret of just how much she adores kids.

Her devastation is twofold – not only does this mean she can’t play aunty to the two youngsters, she also feels upset a family member isn’t making the most of the parenthood experience.

“Jen hasn’t had much to do with AJ, but she hears about him from John occasionally. This type of behaviour makes her blood curdle,” says a source close to the actress.

For his part, AJ seems content with his life, havingg moved on with new girlfriend Kiri Peita, an Australian-born, Us-raised veterinary technician he’s been dating since February. She works in a surgery near San Francisco but visits AJ on her days off.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s never told her his

family is Hollywood royalty – and she’d never be able to tell by the way he lives,” a source close to AJ says. “He acts like he’s just above the poverty line with no respect for material possessions, even though everyone suspects he survives on handouts from his father, John.”

The 27-year-old, who last appeared in the public eye with his parents at Jen’s premiere for Along Came Polly in 2004, spends his days making “animal art” out of roadkill. His rundown apartment sits in a rough neighbourhood with a high crime rate – a far cry from the sprawling, secure Bel Air mansion Jen shares with her husband Justin Theroux.

This saga is just another sad chapter in the chronicles of Jen’s family agony. Last year her mother Nancy Dow, who was married to John between 1965 and 1980, passed away after a prolonged battle with illness. Jen and Nancy had been estranged for years after Nancy wrote a tell-all on Jen’s life in 1999, but they’d managed to reconcile before her death.

Although the pair were at peace before Nancy’s passing, it’s clear the death took a huge emotional toll on Jen. Just two months later she broke down in tears at a conference when an audience member asked her about self-doubt.

“We’re all human beings at the end of the day, whether we’re a waitress or a baker or a student or whatever we are… We say, ‘My heart can’t take it or the pain is too great, or am I good enough? Will I survive?’

“And you just have to somehow miraculously overcome. You just go, ‘I can’t, yes I can, yes you can,’” Jen said.

Now, amid more family heartache, friends hope she can overcome this latest disappointment with the same stoicism she’s shown in the past.p
