Bindi & Chandler Breaking point for the young couple
The couple look strained as they try to keep up appearances…
It’s the romance we were all so sure would never fade, but it’s hard to ignore the growing tension between Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell, who were spotted having yet another fight in public last week.
Just days after the pair were snapped arguing in the car park at their local supermarket, the young couple have once again been caughtg out havingg a tense showdown at Australia Zoo, and this time Bindi looked really upset.
As the couple walked side-byside, Bindi, 18, appeared to be doing everything in her power to avoid eye contact with Chandler.
Soon after, they joined Bindi’s mum Terri, 52, and her younger brother Robert, 13, and it was clear whatever had gone down between the usually loved-up youngsters wasn’t yet resolved. While Bindi walked ahead with her mum, Chandler – who normally acts like an honorary member of the close-knit family – put some distance between himself and his girlfriend, trailing behind.
At one point, Chandler, 20, even approached Bindi, only for her to totally ignore him.
Even more telling, perhaps, is the fact Chandler chose not to wear the family’s trademark khaki uniform – a sure sign of trouble.
Last week, a source close to the Irwin clan revealed that the intense pressure of keeping up appearances at the zoo, and the couple shouldering the weight of trying to maintain it financially, has led to them having a series of spats. There’s a concern it may even prompt them to think twice about their rumoured marriage plans.
Whatever is going on behind closed doors, Bindi’s insistence on putting on a brave face amid the drama and her desire to pour cold water over media reports that her relationship might be failing is completely unwavering.
While Chandler gushed over his “gorgeous other half” after their car park spat, Bindi took to Instagram to post an equally affectionate tribute to her American man following their awkward zoo encounter. Posting a cute video of the pair enjoying a laugh together, the wildlife warrior wrote, “Here’s to being wonderfully random every day @chandlerpowell. You make me laugh and smile and so happy.”
