MAFS Sean has a secret

She thought they were a match, but Sean had other ideas

It seemed like destiny had taken hold for Susan Rawlings and Sean Holland when they met and fell instantly in love at the Married At First Sight altar. Our hearts sang as she called him her “sexy cowboy” and proclaimed, “As he walked towards me, I just thought he was sexy and looked kind. And then when I looked into his eyes, I just got lost in them. He has these amazingly kind eyes.” Then we watched in agony as they tried desperately to make their relationship work despite her being a fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) truck driver in Perth and Sean being a farmer and a FIFO worker in Queensland. And when, after weeks of agonising, they revealed they were giving it another shot, we were thrilled. But now, explosive new claims threaten to rip their fairytale romance apart. According to a wellplaced source, Sean, 35, has fallen for another woman, who he’s been at pains to keep hidden.

“They’ve known each other for about four years now,” says a close friend of Sean and his new girlfriend, mother-of-three Krystel Owen. “She is a real country girl and Sean loves that about her. She shares his love of rodeos and horses – they love riding together.”

In fact, while our source isn’t able to reveal exactly when Sean and Krystel got together, only admitting it was recent, they say she was impressed with the way he handled himself on the show.

“She saw him on the show and was so proud of the way he held himself. Because she knows him, she knows what you saw on TV was the truth, no matter what anyone says.”

It’s not the only time Sean’s character has been called into question, though. Last week, in an explosive tell-all, Susan claimed Sean – who has also had to defend claims he’s a paid actor – was just there to make money.

“I wanted to leave halfway through,” said Susan, 37. “His kids were crying to him on Skype: ‘Please come home, Daddy, we don’t really know why you’re away for so long’. And I said, ‘No, you need to go, we’re just friends, you need to go’. And he’s like, ‘Nah, I need the money, I’m going to New Zealand in April on my first overseas trip ever. I need some spending money’ .”

In fact, Susan said Sean even discouraged her from visiting him in Queensland during the

show, a move that sparked warning signs. “I was completely ready. And his exact response was, ‘I’m too busy breeding my horses that weekend’.

“And I went, what? And he said, ‘I’m going to a rodeo on the weekend and I want my horses to breed that break and I need to be out there breeding them’ .”

Susan says she was especially hurt when she later found out fellow groom Simon had visited instead, and he and Sean had even gone to the rodeo together. “I just thought, oh man, this is never gonna work.”

It appears when it comes to Sean, all is not what it seemed!
