It’s said the death of her mother Nancy Gow – with whom she had a difficult relationship, ironically after Nancy wrote a book about Jen’s life in 1999 – forced the star to make peace with the events of her past and re-examine her life by putting pen to paper.
Now, should she decide to sell her private musings, publishing industry insiders estimate the book would fetch as much as $14.6 million.
“The timing makes perfect sense,” an insider says. “With her mum’s passing, it’s been a year of quiet and deep reflection on Jen’s part about everything she’s gone through. And the simple fact is, she’s getting older. Over the years Jen has been the subject of so many rampant rumours, she may be feeling it’s time to unburden herself and set the record straight once and for all.”
As one of the world’s most fascinating women, Jen’s tell-all book is likely to rocket to the top of bestseller lists – particularly if it covers the breakdown of her first marriage to Brad Pitt, a split regarded as one of Hollywood’s most shocking divorces ever. The beloved couple’s marriage collapsed under his growing closeness to Mr & Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie – who he later married.
