'I've worn some SHOCKERS!'

Logies ambassador Dannii Minogue

She’s had a fitting for her couture dress ahead of this year’s Logies, but Dannii Minogue hasn’t always been so fashion savvy. “I’ve worn some shockers over the years,” laughs the 2017 Logies ambassador. “My brother was texting me some pictures the other day and we were laughing!” Her own fashion regrets aside, Dannii says she loves reminiscing about what her peers have worn. “I’ve been remembering all the wacky people – you need the ‘out there’ people. Jeanne Little had the most eccentric, amazing outfits – there’s no one like her now.” Dannii, 45, is a TV Week Logies veteran so it’s only fitting that this year she’s taken on the role of ambassador. As well as judging the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Outstanding Newcomer, she’ll mentor nominees in that category and the Best Newcomer award, which is voted for by the public.

“I’ve grown up with the Logies. From me going as a kid to me going as a teenager, me staying too late at all the parties to me now leaving too early for all the parties… it’s gone through all the stages of my life!”

But her favourite part of the night is bumping into old faces. “If I see Johnny Young [of Young Talent Time] there I stop and say, ‘Thank you, thank you for giving me my chance because I wouldn’t be here doing this without you’. I love getting to see him.”

Dannii says she’ll be chasing down Gold Logie nominee Jessica Marais for a drink. “Jessica has all the weight on her shoulders, representing all women! It’s a great spotlight for her to be in.”
