As fans of The Bodyguard gear up for its musical remake to hit Australia, we chat to former The Voice contestant Prinnie Stevens, who stars as Nicki Marron in the stage show. What are you looking forward to about the show? We all know The Bodyguard as a movie, but the way it’s transformed on stage is just amazing. Musical theatre heightens everything. And Brendan Irving, who plays the stalker, is amazingly creepy. He’s phenomenal. Does your daughter (Sania, 11) want to be on stage? She’s an amazing singer and actress, but she’s more into athletics. She’s a basketball player. Do you still tune in to The Voice? Always! I love seeing the new judges in action. I would’ve died a thousand deaths if I’d had Kelly Rowland. I would’ve been like, ‘Oh my God! I’m one step closer to Beyonce!’”
