Fifi Box Grant finally proposes!

Fifi Box couldn’t hide her sheer joy at having Grant Kenny by her side after he surprised her with a romantic dash to her home in Melbourne to declare that he wanted to make it official.
“She’s been so cool, patient and just loving Grant from a distance for so long, she was completely blindsided by Grant’s sudden display of romance,” one of Fifi’s Neighbours co-stars revealed exclusively to Woman’s Day.
“Grant’s always struggled with committing long-term to Fifi – let’s not forget, they made a pact to never discuss their relationship publicly and now here he is saying he’s wanting to make a go of it.”
During the romantic short break they looked like a couple very much in love as they embraced their new family life together. Onlookers at Chadstone mall said they both looked “incredibly happy”, and their daughter Trixie, four, was “over the moon” at having her mum and dad together.
“I’ve never seen Grant this happy,” reveals one surf club mate, who says the Ironman finally feels
confident enough to embrace a life with Fifi and Trixie. “We’ve all seen the change in him. He’s like a new person!”
The turning point for Grant, 53, came earlier this year when his ex-wife, Olympic swimmer Lisa Curry, publicly demanded he finalise their divorce while she was in South Africa filming I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and Fifi was reported to be dating Neighbours actor Damien Richardson.
“Suddenly he realised that everything was changing and he might have missed his chance,” explains his mate. “Grant’s the sort of bloke who doesn’t like change, but it’s not often you’re given a second chance. I just hope he hasn’t left it too late.”
Friends say Grant loves the unshakeable bond he has with Fifi, 40, because of Trixie, and has slowly come to the realisation that he will always love the single mum who turned his life upside down when they met five years ago.
“Grant has always struggled with the attention, but he really relies on Fifi emotionally, and he respects her heaps because she is such a great mum,” our source says. “The divorce gave him the shock he needed to reach out again, and this time he’s determined to make it work.”
For her part, Fifi has never hidden the fact that Grant is the love of her life, and though she has tried to move on, she’s never completely given up on her dream of making a little family with Trixie and Grant.
“Fifi’s a lot of fun to be around and she adores Grant,” our insider says. “She never pressures him, but has always let him know that she’s there for him no matter what. He’s always a bit happier after he sees Fifi.”
