Health Trim down with former Bachelor Tim Robards, plus 60-second health check

Bachelor hottie and fitness expert Tim Robards shares his rules for sustainable weight loss – and treats are allowed!

Not to be mistaken for the 5:2 diet, Tim Robards’ brand new healthy eating plan, the 7:2:1, is set to shake up everything you thought you knew about nutrition.

Healthy eating isn’t rocket science but time and again we latch onto fad diets and fail when they prove unsustainable long-term. “People also get confused between a diet and a detox,” says Tim. “A detox is great as a reset tool for a short period of time, but restrictive diets are too hard to stick to.”

The result? People quickly fall off the wagon and feel like failures. “What I’ve done with 7:2:1 is found some balance,” he says. You’ll essentially eat very healthily 70 per cent of the time, sensibly 30 per cent, and treat yourself 10 per cent.

“I’m not saying chill out and eat whatever you want, just keep those processed or sugary foods to 10 per cent of your diet or less,” says Tim.

And when you do indulge, enjoy it!

“Celebrate when it’s time to have something a bit naughty, but don’t call it cheating, as there’s guilt associated with cheating,” he adds. “A treat should be a reward.”

If following this plan gets us closer to a washboard stomach like Tim’s, we’re sold! Here’s what you need to know…
