It seems actingi gigsi may beb fewf and df far between these days for former Cheers star Kirstie Alley. The 66-year-old made the bizarre move of teaming up with her local radio station in Greenwood, Florida, last week to host a street barbecue – and was joined for all the fun by her 10-month old grandson Waylon Tripp Parker. It’s led some fans to question whether Kirstie may be a little short of cash. Guests at the inaugural “I’ “I’m YourY GreenwoodG dN Neighbor”i hb ” event were treated to a rather unappetising looking picnic meal, and were given the opportunity to meet Kirstie, have a chat and get her autograph – on a 1980 Scientology booklet called The Way To Happiness, nonetheless. While some wondered whether the church was simply trying to recruit new members, Kirstie’s rep later denied the bash was a church-organised event.

The actress plays host with her grandson, Waylon.
