Mariah’s boozing behaviour has friends begging her to get help
When she isn’t struggling to stand up, she’s spilling out of her tightfitting clothes and falling into waiting cars as her employees scramble to keep her upright.
And concerns are mounting for Mariah Carey’s wellbeing after a source revealed the extent of her partying lifestyle.
New pictures of the 47-yearold singer looking worse for wear last week are all but proof she’s been overdoing it. And an insider confirms the evening is not an isolated example.
It’s understood excessive drinking mixed with large quantities of prescription painkillers is normal for the star, raising concerns she’s heading for a breakdown.
Now we’re told members of her camp are desperately hoping she’ll head to rehab to curb her drinking – fast!
“She’s spiralling out of control mixing painkillers, prosecco and red wine,” the source says.
“It’s so normal her bodyguards have to watch out to get her home before she embarrasses herself. She’ll fall asleep and pass out if she drinks too much.”
It’s not just when Mariah is clubbing, either. The source says she regularly drinks while on sleeping and pain pills.
“Some days she wakes up and starts drinking and will go on until she goes to sleep. She wakes up moody and erratic. Nobody knows what she’ll do next. She’ll suddenly start yelling at people. She’ll also excuse herself mid-conversation to take a nap.”
It’s not the first time Mariah’s drinking has rung alarm bells. In 2015 her brother Morgan said she’d been numbing herself with champagne since 2001. “Mariah was drinking through her pregnancy – even while she was nursing,” he said in explosive claims to a US publication. “I can’t say I’ve ever been around her… sober, and that’s very scary.”
Morgan, 51, who had not seen his sister for two years when he made the comments, alleged Mariah was on a daily cocktail of medications, and said he was afraid she’d die like Whitney Houston, claiming, “She does not have a support system, and she is not mentally capable.”
Morgan even went so far as to implicate Mariah’s entourage: “Anyone who’s filling her glass is jeopardising her life.”
These fresh fears for the star come at a time when her personal life has come undone. She recently split from backup dancer Bryan Tanaka, who she began dating almost immediately after calling off her engagement to James Packer in October last year.
There’s now speculation she’s reunited with the father of her six-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, her rapper ex-husband Nick Cannon.
