The truth about those CELEB FEUDS!

-

If there’s one person who can sympathise with Masterchef Australia’s Matt Preston over his epic feud with Marco Pierre White, it’s fellow chef Jamie Oliver.

Over the years, the cheeky Brit has clashed with outspoken restaurateur Gordon Ramsay on a number of occasions, including Gordon branding Jamie a “one-pot wonder” and claiming “fat” Jamie fancied his wife and needed “a good wash”.

In 2012, on the topic of Jamie’s quest to combat obesity in the US, Gordon quipped, “You have to be very careful when you go across the pond and want to dictate to Americans about healthy eating. If you’re not in that best shape yourself then you have to be very careful.”

He didn’t stop there, and went on to say, “I think Jamie has a crush on my wife because every time he gets the chance to mention me he goes to my wife.

“For Christmas all I want to do is give him a f***ing good wash.”

Jamie admits he used to retaliate to rival Gordon’s digs, but now he knows better than to bite back.

“Gordon has been fairly horrible to me over the years and I did used to bite. But then I realised I was being a twat. Our kids are around the same age and they don’t need to see their dads slagging each other off. It’s pathetic,” he tells Woman’s Day exclusively.

“Now I just shut up and take it. A bit of drama is always good for some PR!”

Acknowledging the similarities between Brit chefs Gordon and Marco – who’s typically known as the “enfant terrible” of the UK restaurant scene – Jamie says Marco’s latest drama is typical of the fiery chef.

“Marco and Gordon are always doing that [making verbal attacks]. I’ve had my fair share, so I know how it feels,” he says.

“You’ve got two schools of thought in this industry – those who have done well through dedication and friendship, and those regimental, old school, French types who are a bit more aggressive and shouty.”

Most recently, Marco made headlines for vowing revenge on his former Masterchef co-star Matt for “disgraceful” comments made about his 22-year-old son, Marco Jnr, last year.

During an interview with radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O in June last year, Matt not only suggested Marco Jnr was out of control and lived off his father’s fortune, but also that he was taking drugs.

“I mean any dad would feel that whenever your kid goes off the rails the first thing is, ‘What could I have done better?’ I think Marco is no different,” said Matt at the time.

Marco has now said he’ll “never forgive” his former co-star for the offensive remarks.

“With my hand on my mother’s grave I will get him”, he vented in an interview.

“No one should ever say that about someone else’s children”.
