Jen & Justin’s bad neighbours
Well, it turns out that being rich and famous doesn’t exempt you from those everyday neighbourhood disputes.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s conflict with a downstairs neighbour has become so toxic they’ve taken him to court. According to reports, the couple are suing Norman Resnicow for $470,000 in damages after he “made it his twisted sport to bully and intimidate” them over a period of several years.
The A-list couple started doing renovations at their New York apartment in 2015, but 69-yearold Norman was not happy about it, demanding Jen and Justin spend up to $40,000 upgrading soundproofing in the floor. When Justin didn’t agree right away, he threatened to cut the water and electricity to their rooftop deck – a portion of the property he particularly takes exception to.
Norman reportedly claims Jen, 48, and Justin’s deck fence encroaches on his space by 60cm, and had threatened to kill the ivy running along exterior walls – allegedly because he knew Justin liked the plants. He also reportedly harassed construction workers.
As the conflict escalated, he “threatened to set off a PR nightmare” against Jen and Justin, 45, if the problems continued. He told reporters he had acted to “assure my and my wife’s health and safety”.
Jen and Justin are said to be eager to resolve the situation once and for all. We bet!
