The Mothman Prophecies

Sightings of a huge moth-like creature with red glowing eyes in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, US, terrified locals in 1966.

When the town’s main thoroughfare, Silver Bridge, collapsed during rush hour at the end of 1967 killing 46, some believed the Mothman had visited to warn them about the impending disaster.

To this day, the Mothman incident remains a mystery but the citizens of Point Pleasant still hold an annual Mothman Festival.

They’ve erected a statue of the legendary creature and the Mothman Museum attracts many tourists.
