BRANCH WALL-HANGING

-

Branch out – if you don’t want to use an old branch you can switch it out for a timber dowel, stained or painted to make it a little more stylish STEP 1 Cut yarn into 1.2-metre lengths. We used 57 lengths, one of them to hang the finished product. STEP 2 Fold a yarn strand in half, place the loop under the branch and pull the yarn through the loop, as shown. Continue this process, changing yarn colours to make a symmetrical pattern. STEP 3 When you’ve finished the design, take the last remaining yarn strand, fold it in half and tie the ends to either side of the branch in a double knot to make the hanger. STEP 4 Use scissors and a ruler to cut the ends of the yarn in a chevron shape, leaving the sides long. WE USED Cleckheaton “California” 8ply yarn in Pale Grey and Butter Cream, $12.99 each, and 4 Seasons Pure Wool 8ply yarn in Shitake, $4.99, all from Spotlight.
