International chef Jack tells us what it’s like to grow up with renowned kitchen whiz Rick as a dad, and reveals why he’s in love with Australia…
1 Believe it or not, Jack loves Vegemite! “It’s great to add flavour to dishes,” he says. 2Dinner at the Stein household wasn’t as extravagant as you’d imagine growing up. “We mostly had something quick and simple. We did have lobster once, though!” 3He hasn’t ruled out a move to Oz. “It’s a great place to bring up a family. I spent every British winter in Australia as a kid.” 4Dad Rick has never helped him out in the kitchen – except for teaching him how to cut bread. “He uses a sawing action. It doesn’t make a mess!” 5His girlfriend’s a culinary genius, too! “She’s half Italian, half Mancunian – she does good cheesy chips and a ggood pasta!”
