He’s one of the harshest judges on the panel, and Laurence got a taste of his own medicine in 2015! He was forced to tone down the interior of his $2.7 million Cotswolds home in the UK after failing to find a buyer.

The flamboyant designer initially decorated the six-bedroom, 17th-century manor – bought in 2007 – in a series of clashing prints and bright wallpaper, and added heavy furnishing­s to give it an almost baroque feel.

But he had to modernise the property for sale by stripping back the furniture and decor and repainting the walls with a subdued shade of magnolia.

However, the home didn’t lose all its quirks – guests can look for a secret bathroom on the lower level, hidden behind a bookshelf. We’d expect nothing less!
