The wildlife warrior’s jealous boyfriend Chandler fires up over her love for mate Luke

Since beginning their romance three years ago, Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell have been the perfect picture of young love.
Now cracks have started to appear in their formerly blissful relationship, with friends saying Chandler, 20, is worried Bindi might be falling for her best friend Luke Reavley!
Steve Irwin’s eldest child, who will celebrate her 19th birthday on July 24, and Luke have been close ever since he arrived to work at Australia Zoo as the family’s executive assistant in 2007, just months after Steve’s tragic death.
While their relationship has always been platonic, Chandler is said to have become suspicious that it’s heading into more than just friendship.
It comes as mates say he’s worried Bindi’s getting cold feet about their romance, while he’s nothing but sure about their union.
With Luke, 27, recently splitting from his long-term girlfriend, Bindi has been his shoulder to cry on.
WHAT ABOUT THAT HUG?
And, says a friend, Chandler became irate recently when he spotted the pair sharing a lingering hug. “Chandler is really on edge right now about his relationship with Bindi,” a friend of the Us-born wakeboarder tells Woman’s Day.
“He’s worried Bindi might be getting cold feet. That’s why he got so annoyed a few weeks ago when he saw Luke giving Bindi a long hug – it was too much as far as he was concerned.”
That niggling fear was only exacerbated when Bindi posted a loving tribute to Luke on his birthday last week, even joking the Australia Zoo worker looks just like Chandler!
It’s easy to see why Bindi and Luke have such a strong bond – he became a huge part of Bindi’s life in the months after she lost her beloved dad and the pair are often spotted hanging out away from the Zoo.
But for a while there were whispers there could be romance on the cards, and it’s something Chandler hasn’t been able to forget.
“That’s why there has always been tension between the two guys, even though they try to act like they’re buddies,” explains Chandler’s friend.
“The trouble is Chandler has noticed that Bindi seems to be spending a lot more time with Luke lately and he’s worried sick she might be falling for him.”
MOUNTING TENSION
“Chandler has been so panicked about it all, he confronted Bindi with his fears,” says our source. “She told him he was being crazy, but he’s not sure he believes her and it’s causing a few arguments.
“The way he’s carrying on he’s in danger of wrecking their romance regardless!”
